Both, lemons and oranges, are great for Vitamin C, but also work well with whitening your smile. Orange or lemon peels can help brighten your teeth if you rub the back of the peel against your teeth. A little salt can be added for improving the citrus peel results.

You can have a tooth whitening procedure that is done with a laser at your dental office. Laser treatment is the fastest procedure available for whitening teeth. The dentist applies bleaching agent to your teeth and then activates it with a shot from a laser. This treatment lightens teeth approximately six shades and very quickly at that.

Be mindful of what you consume after you have whitened your teeth. Following this process, your teeth are more prone to absorbing stains. In general, you should refrain from consuming foods that have dark colors immediately after a whitening teeth treatment. Coffee is a big culprit in perpetrating color change on your teeth.

You cannot whiten your crowns no matter how often you bleach. Crowns will stay their original color, even as your teeth whiten.

Always follow the directions carefully when using home teeth-whitening products. You will only end up with an irritated mouth and inflamed gums. Even worse, you could do permanent damage to your teeth. Always follow instructions by only using products for the amount of time specified on the packaging.

Toothpastes that claim to whiten your teeth are no more effective than ordinary toothpaste. Why waste your money on a toothpaste that is unlikely to produce results? It’s just a waste of money really.

Whitening teeth products are geared towards teeth that are yellow or brown not gray. Be prepared, because it may take a few treatments before you begin to notice any results.

Use strawberries as a natural way to whiten your teeth! Believe it or not, this fruit is very effective when it comes to brightening up smiles. You can cut a strawberry open and rub the fruit on your teeth directly, or mash strawberries up to make a toothpaste. Allow the strawberry to remain on your teeth at least five minutes before rinsing to achieve maximum whitening.

Replacing the toothpaste you use with baking soda mixed with peroxide can really help to whiten your teeth. Allow this paste to penetrate the porous surface of your teeth for five to ten minutes before brushing. Be careful how hard you brush, you can irritate the gums.

There’s no need for discolored, yellow or stained teeth these days when there are whitening solutions available. Make your choice from the many suggestions to find the solution that works for you. It won’t take long or cost too much to have a better looking smile.
